Android Gets console-quality games thanks to OnLive (Video)

The day when you want to be able to play Call of duty while sitting on a surface or or at the park is almost here. Yesterday by Qualcomm’s Uplinq announced OnLive Universal Wireless Controller. Controller, you can play video games on any device that supports the OnLive, including Onlives own MicroConsole, PC, Mac, Vizio tv VIA Plus, and most importantly Android tablets and smartphones. In OnLive CEO Steve Perl mans own words:

We set ourselves in order to make the OnLive available everywhere. Now, this is a reality, consumers need a way to enjoy the full OnLive experience on any device. New Universal OnLive Wireless Controller puts the high-quality gameplay in the hands of a TV, computer, tablet pc/smartphone device or on future OnLive-compatible devices yet to be introduced.Steve PerlmanCEO and founder of OnLive

The universal Wireless Controller will be able to speak with these devices either through a voodoo magic wireless technology that the company did not want to talk about or a USB dongle. HTC flyer on the video below uses this unknown wireless technology, and it seems rather delafgørelser performs. According to Engadget, “gaming was so well on the flyer, as it is on a PC with a little delay and the same quality graphics”. It is music to our ears.

OnLive rests either, the company plans “have 50 million Blu-ray players, and 25 million Internet tv delivered with service on Board at the end of the year”. Hopefully, this means that Google TV will get OnLive in the coming months. This would send platform for mid-game console-war where Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo owns most of the market.

But Google TV has a great advantage over Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, it comes pre-installed on your TV. If playing games through OnLive is like play them on an Xbox 360 or a PS3, why buy either of these consoles when you already have a Google TV-powered device in the home.

Look at the video below, you get the sense that this is the future of gaming. Pretty soon, there will no more dedicated devices to get on with the game. As long as you have your OnLive controller on you, will, instead, you will be able to play on something that has a screen — from Google TV and Chromebooks for Android tablets and phones.
